This is a verse from a rap that I wrote recently…this explains some of my journey
It’s tragic how we claim were fine were ok
While we die behind blind pride and wont say
What’s inside we draw fine lines and hide away
Deteriorate at a painful slow pace
I’ve played that masquerade
That never ending lifeless existence no peace and no space
Misconceptions of who the father was and wasn’t
Only judgement, no freedom and no grace
Afraid of what other brothers and sisters might say
Disillusioned, not thinking the right way
Will they scorn and shun me all together
Will I adorn a scarlet letter – better to run away
Make my station in a place of condemnation
No joy and no patience
All the while I miss the invitation
To Jump in face first and be imersed in sweet elation
See…If I played this game still today
I would wilt away
Like pretty flowers in bouquets
We rise like city towers but fall with no base
No foundation…left hurt and displaced
But it’s not DISgrace…it’s THIS grace that covers my mis-takes
So I play chase whatever it takes
And despite all the confusion that the crowd makes
I see light and hear music beyond the cloud breaks

some thoughts on love…
The following little blurb comes from a bridge to a song that I wrote…I definitely don’t know alot about love…but these are some things I have learned (sometimes the hard way)
“You know sometimes love aint about awards
Or performances or whos keeping score
Oh this love we have right here is so much more
It’s evening talks and Sunday walks
And grace and peace and friendship sought
Not bought or bargained with conditions
Or violated without permission
It’s open ears and bridled tounges
Without the need of smoking guns
Its clinging to the love that loved us first”
